Interested in learning a new way to knit? Add the Portuguese style to your knitting tool box. Portuguese knitting uses a pin or necklace to tension the yarn. This makes it a good choice for people with joint pain, arthritis, or repetitive motion disorders because little hand movement is necessary to make the stitches.
For this class we will start with worsted weight practice yarn on size 7 or 8 needles. After we have learned and practiced the knit and purl stitches we will move to our class project, a basket weave scarf. This will be made in worsted weight yarn as well.
Materials Needed: 1 skein of Worsted weight yarn and size 7/8 needles.
This class is taught by Brenda Rajkovich at our NFC studio in downtown Baltimore on Saturday November 9th from 11am-1pm.
