Leakin Park Organic Rustic Fingering

Leakin Park is a special, limited edition colorway to celebrate the 48th Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. While this year's festival will be virtual again, we wanted to capture the experience of a beautiful May day spent outdoors.

Leakin Park is a Baltimore National Heritage Area, and is the largest woodland park in any East Coast City. With gorgeous trails and important waterways like the Gwynns Falls, Leakin Park has been a natural haven for Baltimoreans for over 100 years. This colorway evokes the deep pinks of seasonal blooms like weeping redbud, crape myrtle, and pawpaw blossoms.

Available for dye-to-order until Sunday, May 9 at 11:59 pm.

Now non-superwash and made with GOTS-certified Merino wool, single-ply Rustic Fingering has enough yardage for many shawlette and accessory patterns. Since it is not superwash, this new Rustic Fingering feels a bit softer, and is easier to block into shape (especially with lace). It also takes dye a little differently than our superwash bases; some tonal colors and speckles appear more diffused.

Care instructions:
Hand wash with tepid water and mild soap. Lay flat to dry. We recommend washing with Eucalan as other brands of wool wash have had adverse effects on our yarn.
