Join us on March 11th from 10:30-1:30 and learn all about Natural Dyes! Natural dyes can consist of dye solutions made from plant matter, bugs, bark, and even fruits. If you have ever wondered what a mordant is, what types of colors you can make with natural dyeing, and want to learn how to natural dye in your home, then this is the class for you.
We will have different dye solutions ready for you to use in our studio, including dye baths using black beans and even onion skins. Indigo, Weld, and Madder Root will also be included along with other popular dye-stuff. In order to best prepare the yarn, we ask you to make your selection of 3 Studio Line skeins of yarn below, that way we can prepare the yarn, which takes more time to do with Natural Dyes. Don't worry, we will go over this in the class!
Additional skeins can be purchased in advanced. Please email us if you want to have more than 3 skeins for the class.
This is one 3 hour class taught by Astrid Albert in our Studio on March 11th from 10:30-1:30.
Requirements: None! Great class for beginners and experts alike, even if you have no dyeing experience at all.
Materials: All materials are included in the class fee, including three 4oz skeins of your choice in our Studio Line. Please select them from the drop down menu when you purchase the class.
