Summer has hit us head on! For the second month of our Summer of Giving, we are supporting the environment.

When it was announced that the United States would be pulling out of the Paris accord, our initial reaction was disbelief. And then our disbelief turned to anger. As you probably know by now, here at Neighborhood Fiber Co. we are not content to sit idly by. Because we’re dyers, our immediate thought was to create a new color, something that reminded us of our planet. And then we remembered that we already have that color in Easterwood.

When describing Easterwood to people, we commonly refer to it as our planet Earth yarn due to its blend of deep blue and green. Taking a color from our regular lineup instead of creating a new one serves as a nice reminder that you can’t always create something new; sometimes you have to make the most out of what you have. Earth is it. We don’t have a substitute planet we can move to if we destroy this one. We have to do better.
