February Newsletter - California Dreamin'

February 01, 2016 2 min read

In a few short weeks, we will be leaving the snowbound east coast for the California sunshine at Stitches West! We are dyeing up ALL THE YARN and will be bringing 12 types of yarn (yep, 12), one of which is so new it's not even on our website yet (for those of you who can't make it, don't worry, we'll get it up on the website as soon as we get back from California).

We are super excited to complete our Cobblestone line-up with Cobblestone Worsted! Like Cobblestone Sock and Cobblestone DK, Cobblestone Worsted is a blend of 75% Bluefaced Leicester, 15% cashmere, and 10% silk. We have Ann Weaver's Mosiac Cowl already knit up and are working on Roslyn by Veronik Avery and Recoleta by Joji Locitelli.

Our limited edition winter/spring colors are coming along for the ride. Quantities will be extremely limited, so we suggest shopping early! As a bonus for our Stitches West people, we are also hard at work on a very special Stitches West color! We will be posting pictures before the show on the Stitches West Vendor Preview thread on Ravelry.

Come see us in booths 410, 412, 509, and 511.

Back Home

Once we return home, we plan on attending Homespun Yarn Party in Savage Mill. We won't find out if we're in until February 8th, but we have our fingers crossed! Great vendors and a fabulous group of volunteers keep this show on the top of our list every year.

Away We Go

Speaking of great vendors, we've heard amazing things about Stitches South and have decided to go see it for ourselves. We will be heading to Nashville to bring a little Baltimore flair to the south!

Classes & More Workshops!

Meanwhile, we are resuming our class schedule in the studio store. We have the following beginner classes scheduled:
February 10th & 24th from 6 pm to 8 pm
Feburary 14th & 27th from 12 pm to 2 pm
March 6th & 13th from 2 pm to 4 pm
March 9th & 16th from 6 pm to 8 pm
We also have another Dye Workshop scheduled for February 28th from 10 am to 2 pm and we've started Open Dye Studio hours! If you already attended one of our dye workshops or retreats, you can come use your skills in our kitchen without having to worry about the expense of procuring all the materials. There will be undyed skeins available for purchase, or your can bring your own! Please note that our dyes only work on animal fibers (wool, alpaca, silk, and the like). Open Dye Studio is available on February 28th  in 2 hour blocks (2 pm to 4 pm & 4 pm to 6 pm).
